Maine Celtics Announce Schedule For 2021-22 Season

Maine returns to Portland Expo on November 12 as part of 50-game slate

PORTLAND, ME – The Maine Celtics, presented by Unum, announced their schedule today for the upcoming 2021-22 NBA G League season. The Celtics’ 50-game G League schedule tips off at College Park on Friday, Nov. 5.

Maine returns to the Portland Expo for the first time in almost two years on Friday, Nov. 12, when the new-look Celtics host Delaware for the team’s home opener. Maine returns to a traditional 24-game home schedule in 2021-22, all of which will occur at the Expo.

For fans, this season’s NBA G League schedule will look a little different. The first 14 games of the schedule are now called the Showcase Cup, a competition featuring all 29 NBA G League teams and NBA G League Ignite. The Showcase Cup will culminate with a championship in December at the annual NBA G League Winter Showcase. The season records will then reset for the remaining 36-game slate, followed by the traditional NBA G League Playoffs.

Maine will host its traditional New Year’s Eve matinee game against Long Island at 3:00 p.m., before embarking upon a 2022 calendar year that features 17 of the team’s 24 home games. During that busy stretch in 2022, the Celtics will play a season-long five-game homestand from Feb. 4-17. Maine’s home finale is slated for Sunday, March 27 vs. Fort Wayne, with the regular season concluding on Saturday, April 2 at Lakeland.

Season tickets are currently on sale now for the 2021-22 season, and 8-game mini plans will go on sale Thursday, Sept. 16. Single game tickets will go on sale at a future date. For details, visit MaineCeltics.com/tickets.
