PORTLAND, ME – The Maine Celtics today announced that the team has acquired Anthony Tarke from the Available Player Pool.
Tarke, a 6-6 forward, is no stranger to the NBA G League. He most recently played for Santa Cruz, suiting up for three games with the Warriors last month. Last season, Tarke played in 28 games for the Motor City Cruise and is averaging 4.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game in his G League career. The Coppin State product averaged 16.1 points per game his senior season and was named MEAC Player of the Year and also earned conference Defensive Player of the Year honors.
Tarke replaces guard Marial Shayok, who suffered a season-ending pelvis injury on Feb. 24 at Greensboro. Shayok played in 39 games for Maine this season, averaging 16.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game.
Tarke is expected to be in uniform for Thursday’s game vs. Long Island at the Portland Expo. Tickets are available for purchase by visiting HERE.
