Celtics Start Four-Game Road Trip in Ontario

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario – The Maine Celtics will look to rebound from a disappointing loss against Capital City when they travel to face Raptors 905 on Wednesday night.
Maine (3-3) lost in the final seconds on Sunday against the Go-Go (5-3) 96-93 after Erik Stevenson knocked down an and-1 three-pointer with 3.5 seconds left in the game. Stevenson scored a career-best 36 points in Capital City's win.
After the loss, the Celtics are in fifth in the East Division standings of the NBA G League Tip-Off Tournament. The Greensboro Swarm are in first with a 4-1 record. Westchester is second at 4-2 and Capital City is third.
Mississauga, Ontario is the first stop on a four-game road trip for the Celtics, who don’t return home to the Portland Expo until December 7. They’ll battle Raptors 905, who are 2-5 to start the season (7th in the East Division). Raptors 905 defeated Long Island 130-115 on Sunday to snap a five-game skid.
JD Davison continues to be the catalyst for the Celtics on both sides of the ball. Davison is sixth in the G League in points per game (25.0) and continues to lead the G League in assists per game (10.5). Davison will also look to make some more franchise history on this upcoming road trip. The Celtics Two-Way Player is three steals away from tying Chris Wright’s all-time record of 108 steals. He previously surpassed Wright as Maine’s all-time leading scorer.
After missing the first two games while on assignment, Drew Peterson is back with the Celtics and is third on team in scoring at 16.3 points per game. Fellow Two-Way Player Anton Watson is averaging 8.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. Tristan Enaruna will rejoin the Celtics this week after being away from the team to play for the Netherlands in the 2025 EuroBasket Qualifiers.
Raptors 905 is led by two-way players Jamison Battle, DJ Carton, and Ulrich Chomche. Chomche is the only 905 Two-Way Player to appear in all seven games to this point. Battle has played one game for 905 and Carton has played two. The most consistent threat for 905 during the G League Tip-Off Tournament has been Kennedy Chandler, who’s posting averages of 18.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 7.7 assists. Chandler most recently scored 22 points and dished out 12 assists in Sunday’s win.
RON’S RETURN: Celtics Guard Ron Harper Jr.’s career in the G League began as a Two-Way Player with the Toronto Raptors organization from 2022 to 2024. Harper Jr. Appeared in just six games last season with 905 before suffering a season-ending injury. Harper Jr. is coming off his best game in a Maine Celtics jersey after scoring 21 points on Sunday, shooting 3/6 from deep.
CRASHING THE GLASS: Maine has paced the league in offensive rebounds through six games, crashing the glass for just under 18 offensive boards per game. Drew Peterson, Baylor Scheierman, and Hason Ward all average close to three OREBs per game to lead the Celtics.
BLOCK PARTY: Maine is also first in the G League in blocks per game (9.7), led by Ward who’s second in the G League with 3.5 blocks per contest. The rookie’s 21 blocked shots this season is the most by a Maine Celtics player through the first six games of his career since Jordan Mickey in 2015.
TURNOVER BATTLE: Maine is one of the best teams at protecting the ball in the G League. The Celtics currently average 13.5 turnovers per game, the second least in the league. They’ll face plenty of pressure from Raptors 905, who are first in the G League in steals with 12.6 per contest.
SHARE THE ROCK: Raptors 905 is first in the G League in assists with 28.4 per game. Three players for 905 average seven APG or more in Kennedy Chandler, DJ Carton, and Jamal Shead. Meanwhile, Maine’s JD Davison leads the G League in assists per game with 10.5 APG.
THE ROAD AHEAD: After playing on Wednesday in Ontario, Maine will travel to Wilmington, Delaware to face the Delaware Blue Coats on November 30. The road trip will conclude with two games in College Park, Georgia on December 2 and December 4 against the College Park Skyhawks.
