Celtics prepare for back-to-back against Charge

CLEVELAND, Ohio. - The Maine Celtics return to action on Friday night in the first game of a back-to-back series against the Cleveland Charge.

Maine (16-10) begins the day in second place in the Eastern Conference standings, just a half a game back of the conference leading Greensboro Swarm. Cleveland (10-15) is 13th in the Eastern Conference.

The Celtics earned their first victory in the month of March, 122-111 over the Grand Rapids Gold on March 4th. JD Davison finished the game with 34 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists on 13-23 (57%) shooting from the floor. Fellow Two-Way player Drew Peterson packed the stat sheet with 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists. Peterson knocked down 50% (4-8) of his shots from deep against the Gold. Jay Scrubb poured in 22 points and 8 rebounds off the bench and Tristan Enaruna added 12 points and 6 rebounds for Maine. As a team, Maine finished the game shooting 52.2% (47-90) from the floor and 31.4% (11-35) from deep.

Maine has won 10 of its last 11 games and recently saw Head Coach Tyler Lashbrook earn NBA G League Coach of the Month honors for February and JD Davison was named Kia NBA G League Player of the Month for February.

The Charge are coming off a high-flying game against the Osceola Magic where Cleveland fell 149-144.  Emoni Bates led the Charge with 31 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Feron Hunt scored 23 off the bench while Nae’Qwan Tomlin and Jaylon Tyson both scored 21.
