CHRIS CLEMONS NAMED NBA G LEAGUE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
PORTLAND, ME – The NBA G League announced today that Maine Celtics guard Chris Clemons has been named NBA G League Player of the Week for the week ending on Feb. 13. Clemons is the first Maine Celtics player to earn the award this season.
Clemons helped lead Maine to a 2-0 week by becoming the first player in franchise history to record a triple-double in consecutive games. For the week, Clemons averaged 28.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, and 12.0 assists.
Clemons started the week by recording the first Maine triple-double since 2019, dropping 38 points, 15 rebounds, and 14 assists in the 121-117 win over Wisconsin on Feb. 10. Clemons and teammate John Bohannon each recorded a triple-double in the win, marking just the third time in NBA G League history that two teammates each had a triple-double in the same game. Clemons followed that performance up with a 19 point, 12 rebound, 10 assist triple-double in a 105-99 win over Greensboro on Feb. 12. Clemons also had 2 steals in the Feb. 12 game.
Clemons and the Maine Celtics return to action this Thursday, Feb. 17, against College Park at the Portland Expo. Tickets are available by visiting MaineCeltics.com.
