Road trip begins tonight for Maine

Evans Boston /January 14, 2026

Oshkosh, WI - The Maine Celtics have left the friendly confines of the Portland Expo for snowier and not-so-greener pastures.

Maine begins a four-game road trip Wednesday night at Wisconsin. The Celtics face the Herd in a 7 p.m. ET tip, streamed live on ESPN+. Maine is riding a four-game winning streak after a sweep of Salt Lake City last Thursday and Friday at home.

Unlike the Expo, the road has not been the Celtics' friend this season. Including the Tip-Off Tournament and games played at the Winter Showcase, Maine is 4-7 away from the Expo in 2025-26, and 1-3 in the Regular Season portion of the schedule. Compare that to a 10-2 record in Portland.

The Celtics have gotten some excellent contributions from the entire roster. Hayden Gray was flirting with a triple-double in the Jan. 9 win over Salt Lake City, finishing with 13 points, 7 rebounds, 10 assists, and 5 steals. Kameron Warrens has provided a spark off the bench since returning from injury. Starting forward Jalen Bridges is starting to really shoot the ball well, including draining the game-winner in overtime on Jan. 3. Kendall Brown is ready to leap out of the gym at any moment.

Wisconsin will provide a challenge both tonight and in Friday's game. The Herd struggled in the Tip-Off Tournament, but sit at 4-5 since the reset of the standings. It's a team that features NBA experience, including two-time NBA All-Star Victor Oladipo. The Celtics managed to get back on track shooting the ball on Jan. 9, surpassing 50% from the floor and 30% from three-point range for the first time in several games.

It will take a big effort to get back into the win column on the road. Maine doesn't return to home until Jan. 23, when the Celtics take on Greensboro.
