GAME PREVIEW: Celtics Return to Expo Against Raptors 905

PORTLAND, Maine. - After one game on the road, the Maine Celtics are back in the Portland Expo for two games against Raptors 905. Maine (4-3) is currently seventh in the Eastern Conference and Raptors 905 is eighth a half game back at 2-2.
Maine last met 905 on December 15 in Tip-Off Tournament play, with Raptors 905 handing Maine a narrow 115-114 defeat in a game that featured nine lead changes.
The Celtics return home after falling in a close one to the Indiana Mad Ants 118-115 on Tuesday afternoon. Maine slipped to 4-3 in the regular season after the Mad Ants erased a 10-point deficit in the fourth to stun the Celtics in the final minute. JD Davison led Maine with 27 points, 10 assists, and six rebounds. Drew Peterson connected on 5-10 shots from deep to add 23 points for the Celtics. Five Maine players scored 15 points or more in the losing effort. Baylor Scheierman finished with 18 points and four rebounds, marking the first time in five games that Scheierman has been held under 20 points.
Raptors 905 is also coming off a loss. 905 last played on Saturday, January 4 in a 115-84 losing effort against the Austin Spurs. Kennedy Chandler led 905 with 14 points, seven assists, and four rebounds. Chandler is third on the team in scoring and second in assists in the regular season with 5.0 per game.
905's Two-Way Players are AJ Lawson, Jamison Battle, and Ulrich Chomche. Lawson has appeared in all four regular season games for 905, leading the team in scoring at 18.5 PPG. Lawson scored a team-high 34 points in 905's victory over Maine earlier this season. Eugene Omoruyi is second on 905 in scoring at 16.8 PPG and second in rebounding at 7.3 RPG. Omoruyi recently signed a 10-day contract with the Toronto Raptors.
TURNOVER BATTLE: Maine continues to be the best team in the G League in turnovers, relinquishing the ball just 14.1 times per game on average. In the Celtics loss to 905 in December, Maine had 23 turnovers. 905 turns up the pressure on defense by forcing over 10 steals per game, fifth best in the G League.
SHARE THE ROCK: Raptors 905 is second in the G League in assists per game (27.0). Three players average five assists or more, led by Frank Kaminsky (5.3 APG).
MORE HISTORY FOR JD: Friday will be JD Davison's 109th game as a Maine Celtic, which sets a new franchise record for games played. Davison is also the franchise leader in scoring, assists, and steals.
