Celtics Clash with Wolves to Tip-Off Busy Week at Expo

PORTLAND, Maine. - The Maine Celtics tip-off a busy week at the Portland Expo where the Celtics will play three games in four days. The three-game stretch caps off a busy month at home for Maine.

Maine (6-9) will face the Iowa Wolves (2-10) first on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. and again on Friday night at 7 p.m. The Celtics seek to snap a four-game losing streak, their longest losing streak of the season. This will be the first meeting between Maine and Iowa since December 13, 2019.

The Celtics are coming off a 108-106 overtime loss to the Osceola Magic on Sunday in the team's sixth overtime battle of the season. Maine is 1-5 in overtime games this year. Iowa has lost three in a row, most recently losing on Monday to the Westchester Knicks.

Both teams are expected to be without some of their Two-Way Players. Maine will be without Drew Peterson, who will not be with the team while with Boston. Iowa is expected to be without Jaylen Clark (NWT) and Jesse Edwards (ankle). Baylor Scheierman has been assigned to the Maine Celtics. This will be Scheierman's first game back with Maine since January 16.

On Tuesday, both Maine and Iowa had players chosen to represent the G League at the upcoming Rising Stars Challenge during NBA All-Star Weekend. Maine's JD Davison (Two-Way) and Iowa's Leonard Miller (Assignment) were chosen among seven G League players to participate during All-Star weekend. Davison will be the first Celtic to play in the game since Jayson Tatum in 2019.
