LOS ANGELES, Cali. - Ron Harper Jr. is gearing up for a busy NBA All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles.
The Celtics Two-Way player will take part in two different events on Friday and Saturday, starting with the Castrol Rising Stars event on Friday night. Harper will then join his father, Ron Harper Sr., and brother, Dylan Harper of the San Antonio Spurs in the Shooting Stars competition on Saturday evening.
Harper Jr. is the second Maine Celtics player to be selected to compete in Castrol Rising Stars. Last season, JD Davison also participated in the annual showcase of premier young NBA talent. Harper Jr. will compete with six other select NBA G League players against teams of first- and second-year NBA stars.
Castrol Rising Stars will once again feature a mini-tournament with four teams and three games, taking place at 9 p.m. ET at Intuit Dome in Los Angeles on Friday, Feb. 13. The event will be televised live on Peacock. In the mini-tournament, Team A will face Team B in the first semifinal (Game 1), and Team C will play Team D in the second semifinal (Game 2). The winner of Game 1 will meet the winner of Game 2 in the championship (Game 3).
On Saturday night, Four teams of three – each featuring two NBA players and one NBA legend – will compete in the Shooting Stars event. The teams reflect NBA All-Star connections, school and team affiliations, and family ties.
Team Harper: Five-time NBA champion Ron Harper Sr. pairs up with his sons, San Antonio Spurs guard Dylan Harper and Boston Celtics guard-forward Ron Harper Jr.
Team All-Star: Toronto Raptors guard-forward Scottie Barnes and Oklahoma City Thunder forward-center Chet Holmgren, 2026 NBA All-Star Game teammates, are joined by three-time NBA All-Star Richard Hamilton.
Team Cameron: Three Duke University alums who starred at Cameron Indoor Stadium team up – 2026 NBA All-Star Jalen Johnson of the Atlanta Hawks, Castrol Rising Star Kon Knueppel of the Charlotte Hornets and former 14-year NBA veteran Corey Maggette.
Team Knicks: New York Knicks teammates Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns, both 2026 NBA All-Stars, compete with Allan Houston, who made two NBA All-Star teams with New York and now serves as its Vice President of Player Leadership & Development.

Kia Shooting Stars will feature a two-round format, with all four teams competing in the first round and the top two advancing to the final round. Teams will compete one at a time and have 1:10 to score points while rotating through seven designated shooting locations around the court, with all three players on a team shooting at each spot in a set order. The team with the higher score in the final round will be crowned the champion.
Shooting Stars will kick off All-Star Saturday night at 5 p.m. at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles. Fans can stream the event on Peacock or watch the broadcast on NBC.
