LUKE KORNET SIGNS WITH BOSTON CELTICS

PORTLAND, ME – The Maine Celtics, presented by Unum, announced today that center Luke Kornet has signed a contract for the remainder of the season with the Boston Celtics.

This is the third GATORADE Call-Up for Kornet this season. He signed a 10-day contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers on Dec. 21, followed by a 10-day contract with the Milwaukee Bucks on Jan. 3.

Kornet, a 7-2 Vanderbilt product, has played in 17 games for Maine this season, averaging 13.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 2.0 blocks per game. He is among team leaders in field goal percentage (53.7%).

Kornet returns to Boston, where he played 18 games during the 2020-21 season. Over his five-year NBA career, Kornet is averaging 5.7 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.0 assists in 136 games.

This is the 8^th GATORADE Call-Up to the NBA earned by Maine Celtics players this season.
