CLEVELAND CAVALIERS SIGN LUKE KORNET TO 10-DAY CONTRACT
PORTLAND, ME – Maine Celtics center Luke Kornet has earned a GATORADE Call-Up to the NBA, signing a 10-day contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers, under the COVID-related hardship allowance.
Kornet, a Vanderbilt product, has played in 10 games for Maine this season, averaging 11.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.5 blocked shots per game. He scored 19 points and grabbed a season high 13 rebounds in a win over Raptors 905 on Dec. 9. A four-year NBA veteran, Kornet has played in 133 NBA games between New York, Chicago and Boston, averaging 5.8 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game.
Kornet becomes the 16th player in franchise history to earn a GATORADE Call-Up, and the second this week. Theo Pinson signed a 10-day contract with the Dallas Mavericks yesterday.
