Maine acquires three players in 2025 NBA G League Draft

PORTLAND, Maine - The Maine Celtics rounded out their 2025 training camp roster on Saturday, acquiring three players in the 2025 NBA G League Draft.  

Training camp begins in Portland, Maine on October 27. Maine acquired one player via a draft day trade and made two second round selections in Saturday's draft to bolster their roster ahead of the start of camp.

Maine acquired forward Stefan Todorovic in a draft day trade with the Motor City Cruise, who selected Todorovic with the 7th overall pick. Maine traded a 2027 NBA G League first round pick to Motor City in the transaction. A rookie from Belgrade, Serbia, Todorovic started all 35 games during his senior season at Pepperdine. Todorovic led the Waves in scoring in 2024-25, averaging 18.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game on 43% shooting from the floor. He was third on the team in rebounds.

Prior to his one season at Pepperdine, Todorovic played one season at San Francisco, averaging 3.8 points and 1.5 rebounds per game as a junior. Todorovic also played two collegiate seasons at Southern Methodist. Todorovic played four games during the 2025 NBA Summer League with the Philadelphia 76ers. He averaged 3.5 points and 1.5 rebounds in 7.6 minutes per game.

In the second round, Maine selected forward Vance Jackson with the 41st pick. The 28-year-old appeared in one NBA G League game in 2024-25 for Raptors 905. He previously played six games with the Salt Lake City Stars in 2023-24, averaging 2.2 points and 2.3 rebounds in 5.7 minutes per game. Jackson played for Halcones Ciudad Obregon, a Mexican professional basketball team in 2024-25. Jackson appeared in eight games with Halcones, averaging 6.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game.

Jackson made five stops in his collegiate career, concluding with his senior season at East Carolina. Jackson started in all 30 contests in 2021-22, averaging 13.1 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. He went undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft.

Maine made their final draft day decision at pick 54, selecting guard Nicolas Timberlake. Timberlake most recently played internationally for Cheshire Phoenix in the United Kingdom and Galomar in Portgual. The 27-year-old guard started 23 of 27 games for Cheshire, averaging 16.6 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.1 steals per game on 43% shooting from the field. He averaged 8.9 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game with Galomar.

Timberlake played five collegiate seasons at Towson. He averaged 17.7 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists during his senior season with the Tigers in 2022-23. Timberlake transferred to Kansas for his final season of eligibility where he posted 5.2 points and 1.9 rebounds in 15.3 minutes per game with the Jayhawks in 2023-24. Kansas fell in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2024 to Gonzaga. Timberlake is from Braintree, Massachusetts.

Dillon Jones was selected with the first overall pick in the 2025 NBA G League Draft by the South Bay Lakers.

Maine must cut their roster down to 13 players by November 6, which includes the team’s three, two-way players in Amari Williams, Max Shulga and Ron Harper Jr. Maine’s regular season tips off on November 7 on the road against the Greensboro Swarm. The Celtics return home to the Portland Expo for the team's home opener on November 14 against the Long Island Nets. Tickets are available here.
