Every NBA G League team will play at least two games at the Winter Showcase, which is the culmination of the first part of the league’s season – the Tip-Off Tournament.  During the Tip-Off Tournament, teams were placed into four regions to play 14 games exclusively against each other. The teams with the best winning percentage in each region, along with the next four teams with the best winning percentages regardless of region, will advance to compete for the Championship at the NBA G League Winter Showcase. The Showcase Championship winning team also takes home the $100,000 prize.

The eight teams playing for the Showcase Cup are Westchester, Capital City, OKC, Grand Rapids, The Valley, Iowa, Stockton, and Sioux Falls.

The NBA G League Winter Showcase gives over 200 players on NBA G League rosters a chance to shine in hopes of achieving their dream: landing an NBA contract. It takes place right before the point in the season when NBA teams can sign free agents to 10-Day Contracts.

The majority of players in the NBA G League are free agents who can be signed by any NBA team (click here to learn more about how rosters are built). More than 100 players have earned a call-up during or immediately after the last 19 Showcases.

THE ROAD AHEAD: After the conclusion of the NBA G League Winter Showcase, all teams will begin the regular season with a new, 0-0 record. Maine's regular season begins on the road on December 27 when the Celtics travel to play the Grand Rapids Gold. The Celtics will then face Motor City on December 29 before returning to the Portland Expo on December 31 against the Texas Legends. Tickets are available here.
