Maine Announces Affiliate Players For 2018-19


PORTLAND, Maine – October 19, 2018 – The Maine Red Claws, presented by Unum, announced that former NBA G League All-Star Marcus Georges-Hunt will re-join the Red Claws in training camp as a Returning Player.


Additionally, the team announced Justin Bibbs, Nick King and Jeff Roberson as their Affiliate Players for the upcoming season.


Georges-Hunt played 45 games for Maine in the 2016-17 season, averaging 15.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and 4.5 assists. He was named an NBA G League All-Star, as well as Third Team All NBA G League, and earned a GATORADE Call-Up to the Orlando Magic. Last season, Georges-Hunt played in the NBA for the Minnesota Timberwolves, averaging 1.4 points in 42 games. Per NBA G League rules, G League teams retain a returning player’s rights for two seasons.

Bibbs, King and Roberson all participated in Boston Celtics training camp, and designated to Maine as Affiliate Players after getting waived in Boston. Bibbs, a rookie, was a four-year standout at Virginia Tech, averaging 13.3 points in 31 games his senior season.


King, also a rookie, played in 10 games for the Los Angeles Lakers at NBA Summer League, averaging 8.6 points. He played in 2 Celtics preseason games, averaging 4.0 points per game. King started all 33 games in his senior year at Middle Tennessee State last season, averaging 21.0 points per game.


Roberson played for the Golden State Warriors at Summer League, and also played in 2 preseason games for the Celtics. A four-year starter at Vanderbilt, Roberson averaged 16.9 points and 7.1 rebounds per game his senior season.


The 2018 NBA G League Draft will be held tomorrow at 1 p.m. Maine’s season opens on Nov. 2 at the Portland Expo. Individual tickets are on sale now.
