Jordan Mickey Named D-League Player of the Month

PORTLAND, Maine – January 5, 2016 – The NBA Development League today announced that Jordan Mickey of the Maine Red Claws has won the NBA D-League Player of the Month Award for the month of December. This is the first time in Red Claws franchise history that a player has received Player of the Month honors.

Mickey, on assignment from the Boston Celtics, helped lead Maine to a 7-2 record in December. In 8 games (all starts), Mickey averaged 19.6 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 5.3 blocks per game. On December 31, Mickey recorded the 9th triple-double in Red Claws history (13 points, 13 rebounds, 10 blocks). Mickey currently leads the NBA D-League in blocks with 4.7 blocks per contest.


A second round pick in the 2015 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics, Mickey has played in 17 games, averaging 18.1 points, 10.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 4.7 blocks in 35.2 minutes per game. He has 11 double-doubles so far this season, ranking third in the league.
