Miles Norris scores first NBA points with Boston

ORLANDO, Fla. -Two-Way player Miles Norris scored his first NBA basket in a Boston Celtics uniform on Wednesday night.
Norris buried the first shot of his NBA career, a three-pointer with four minutes remaining in the third quarter. The shot was assisted by Payton Pritchard, a longtime friend of Norris and former teammate at the University of Oregon.
Norris would go on to log 19 minutes of action, recording six points, three rebounds, and two steals on 2-6 shooting from the floor, including 2-4 from beyond the arc. Wednesday's game marked his second career appearance with Boston. The Celtics lost to the Orlando Magic 96-76.
Norris made his NBA regular season debut on March 6th against the Philadelphia 76ers. In that game, Norris grabbed two rebounds in four minutes of work. Norris signed a Two-Way contract with the Boston Celtics on March 4th.
In eight Regular Season appearances with the Maine Celtics, Norris averaged 14.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game. The Two-Way player elevated his game in the postseason, posting 20.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.3 steals per game in three playoff appearances. Norris shot 72.4% from the floor, including 63.6% from deep in the postseason. Maine fell in the Eastern Conference Finals to the Osceola Magic.
It was also a big night on Wednesday for two former Maine Celtics. Boston Celtics rookie Baylor Scheierman earned his first career NBA start. Scheierman has seen his role grow in Boston since playing the majority of the season on assignment in Maine. Against Orlando, Scheierman played a new career-high 35 minutes, packing the stat sheet with 15 points, five rebounds, three assists, and one steal.
The 2024 First Round pick played 25 games with Maine, averaging 19.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. Scheierman last played for Maine on February 1st.
Former Two-Way player Neemias Queta was a force in the paint against the Magic, finishing the night with 11 points and seven rebounds on 4-6 shooting from the field. Queta also blocked two shots and dished out a pair of assists in over 25 minutes of gameplay. The highlight of the night belonged to Queta, with the center catching a pass from Pritchard in the second quarter and throwing down a poster dunk on Orlando's Wendell Carter Jr.
