Boston Celtics Sign Max Shulga To Two-Way Contract

CELTICS SIGN MAX SHULGA TO TWO-WAY CONTRACT

BOSTON, MA – The Boston Celtics announced today that the team has signed Max Shulga to a two-way contract. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Shulga (6-5, 210), the 57th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, appeared in 162 games (109 starts) across three seasons at Utah State (2020-23) and two at VCU (2023-25). The 23-year-old averaged 10.1 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 0.9 steals in 25.0 minutes per game while shooting 43.9% from the field, 39.2% from 3-point range and 82.1% from the free-throw line in his collegiate career.

In 72 contests (all starts) at VCU, the 2024-25 Atlantic 10 Player of the Year and two-time All-Atlantic 10 First Team selection (2023-24, 2024-25) posted averages of 14.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.3 steals in 32.8 minutes per game. In 2024-25, Shulga helped lead the Rams to a 28-7 record and Atlantic 10 championships in both the regular season and the conference tournament. The Ukraine native ranked second in the conference in free throws (148), third in steals per game (1.8), and seventh in assists per game (4.0) in his final collegiate season. Shulga and Celtics center Neemias Queta were teammates at Utah State for the 2020-21 season.
