9-Year NBA Veteran Joins Team in Portland

PORTLAND, ME – The Maine Celtics today announced that the team has acquired guard Tony Snell. The NBA veteran joins the team from the Available Player Pool.

Snell, 31, is the most experienced NBA player on the roster with 601 career NBA games played. The nine-year NBA veteran was originally the 20th overall selection by the Chicago Bulls in the 2013 NBA Draft.

In his NBA career, Snell has averaged 6.1 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 21.8 minutes per game. Snell has played for six different NBA teams, including Chicago (2013-16) and Milwaukee (2016-19). He has made 728 three-pointers in his NBA career and boasts a 39.8% shooting percentage from beyond the arc. Snell has played in 47 NBA Playoff games in his career.

In a corresponding move, the Maine Celtics have waived guard Trey Davis, who has opted to pursue overseas basketball opportunities. Davis leaves the team as the franchise leader in games played at 109. He is third all-time in points scored (1,413), and second all-time in assists (451) and steals (104).

The Maine Celtics return to action Wednesday at Capital City. Maine returns home this Friday and Saturday for a pair of games against College Park. Tickets for all home games can be purchased by visiting MaineCeltics.com.
