The Maine Celtics completed a trade with the Memphis Hustle Sunday afternoon, acquiring the Returning Player Rights to NBA G League veteran Wesley Saunders.
In exchange, Maine send guard Sahvir Wheeler to Memphis.
Saunders is a four-year G League veteran, playing 111 career G League games for Memphis, Santa Cruz, Ontario, Windy City, Westchester, and Austin. He has averaged 4.1 points and 3.2 rebounds per game. Saunders is not expected to immediately join the Maine roster.
Wheeler was currently participating in Maine Celtics Training Camp as a Local Tryout player. He will join Memphis, and Maine's training camp roster now stands at 14 players. The Celtics will need to reduce the roster to 13 by the start of the 2024-25 NBA G League season this Friday.
