Spencer Martin /April 14, 2025

BOSTON, Mass. - On the same day JD Davison signed his new NBA contract, the guard posted a new career high in scoring in Boston's regular season finale against the Charlotte Hornets.

Davison scored 9 points on 4-11 shooting in Boston's 93-86 victory over the Hornets. In 17 minutes of work, Davison also dished out 4 assists, grabbed 1 rebound, and had 2 steals. Nine points and two steals are both new NBA career highs for Davison.

On Sunday, Boston announced they had converted Davison from a Two-Way contract to a standard NBA contract. Since being drafted by Boston with the 53rd overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, Davison has developed as a player and person on a Two-Way contract with the Celtics. During that three-year span, Davison has spent the bulk of his time with the Maine Celtics in the NBA G League, becoming one of the franchise's all-time great players.

Davison wasn't the only former Maine Celtic to contribute to Sunday's victory. Eight of the 10 players who played against the Hornets suited up for the Maine Celtics at one time in their career. Sam Hauser scored 15 points on 5-9 shooting and Luke Kornet tallied 11 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Another former Two-Way player, Neemias Queta packed the stat sheet with 2 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals. Eligible assignment players Jordan Walsh and Baylor Scheierman, who both played for Maine this season also contributed to the win. Scheierman showed off his playmaking abilities with 7 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals. Walsh added 10 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block.

Current Two-Way players Drew Peterson and Miles Norris both logged 12 minutes for the Celtics. Peterson scored 4 points and grabbed 3 rebounds while Norris finished Sunday's game with 1 point, 4 rebounds, and 1 block.
