JD Davison named NBA G League Player of the Week

PORTLAND, Maine. - The NBA G League announced on Tuesday Maine Celtics point guard JD Davison has been named NBA G League Player of the Week for games played from March 3rd to the 9th.
Fresh off being named the Kia NBA G League Player of the month for February, Davison has now earned his first Player of the Week honor of the season. It's the second time Davison has received the honor in his career. The Celtics Two-Way Player last earned the honor on December 12, 2023. Davison is the first Maine Celtic to be named Player of the Week since DJ Steward on March 19, 2024. This is the sixth time in NBA G League history the reigning Player of the Month won Player of the Week in the next month.
Davison led the Celtics to a 2-1 record with wins over the Grand Rapids Gold and Cleveland Charge. Overall, Davison has been instrumental in helping the Maine Celtics win 11 of its last 13 games. Maine is 17-11 in the Regular Season and sits a half game back of first place in the Eastern Conference Standings.
During the three-game stretch from March 3rd to March 9th, the third-year guard averaged 33.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 10.0 assists, and 1.7 steals per game. Davison shot 37-70 (53%) from the floor during the three-game stretch, which included a triple double against the Cleveland Charge on March 7th where Davison led Maine to a victory with 30 points, 11 rebounds, 13 assists, and 3 steals.
It's been a record-breaking season for the Two-Way Player. Davison has become the Maine Celtics franchise leader in points, assists, steals, and games played. After Saturday's game against the Charge, Davison has now eclipsed 2,500 total points, 1,000 assists, and 600 rebounds in his three years with Maine. Saturday also marked Davison's 14th 30-point game of the season, and it was his 10th consecutive game scoring 20 points or more. Davison has also scored at least 10 points in 85 consecutive contests.
Davison is currently fourth in the G League in scoring (25.2 PPG) and seventh in assists (7.6) during the Regular Season. Davison has scored 40 points or more twice this season and has posted six games with 30+ points and 10+ assists. Throughout the Tip-Off Tournament and Regular Season, Davison has 11 total double-doubles.
The Maine Celtics continue their road trip on Wednesday, March 12th when they travel to take on the Windy City Bulls at 8:00 p.m.
